Welcome to the Oolkay Museum!

Based in Tokyo, Japan, the Oolkay Museum is a growing and evolving collection of the unusual and fascinating, built from specimens acquired over the last two decades.

  • Our History

  • The museum had its early beginnings through the gifting of a notable collection of Ancient Greek coins. Garnering an extensive collection of meteorites and Cretaceous era fossils from a generous donor expanded the scope of the museum’s holdings. The recent addition of an assortment of historic significant and scientifically intriguing objects has placed the museum on firm footing to expand its online presence.

Named Oolkay from the Dark Age Cornish phrase, ‘Keeper of the Old Keys’, the museum is fully funded and independent of government, private donor, or crowdfunding support.

The museum does indeed encompass the keeping of the old keys, to unlocking and understanding our march out of the cosmos and the miraculous mind of mankind.
